Teaching: Gymnastics

Date of hire: August 1998

My favorite children's book/story:

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

Babar the Elephant by Jean De Brunhoff

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

Fun facts about me:

I enjoy exercise, especially biking, golf, tennis, and running. I've run 26 Marathons over the years, and I've run to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite. I've also traversed 3/4 up Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Another favorite pastime of mine is that I enjoy rescuing Golden Retriever dogs.

What do you love the most about teaching/working with little ones?

Youngsters are enthusiastic, inquisitive, and loving. The children have great senses of humor, joy, and smiles. Being a part of their developmental success/sense of accomplishment has brought so much purpose to me over the course of my 50 years teaching/coaching.

From your perspective, what makes the Children's Center so special?

Success, quality, and a safe environment for learning, is only fostered by the Children Center philosophy implemented by the Staff. All teachers support and care for each other, with the same dedication/commitment as to the students.
