My favorite children's book/story:
Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney
I love this book because it's such an endearing story and takes the concept of expressing love to a level a child can understand and have fun with. My own children who are now young adults and I still try to out do each other with our verbal expressions of love. The expressions I receive have become quite humorous yet each one continues to warm my heart.
Fun facts about me:
I grew up on a working farm (that's how my parents made a living). At 18, I was recruited by a professional scout to play for a women's fast-pitch softball team in Texas. (I turned down the opportunity.) My favorite food in the whole wide world is Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream from Baskin Robbins!
Why did you decide to work with preschoolers?
I love this age and I truly feel I make a difference; not only in the lives of these young ones, but also with their parents as they navigate the magic and mysteries of early childhood development.
What do you love the most about teaching/working with little ones?
Their innocence — their unbridled spirit and love.
From your perspective, what makes the Children's Center so special?
