April 2009 Parent Newsletter
Dear Parents,
It was so wonderful to see your smiling faces at our
Spring Sings! Watching your child accomplish something that is difficult is one of Life's pure pleasures. These are priceless moments that are known only to those lucky enough to call themselves parents, (or even luckier — grandparents). I know that for many of you, this was your last Spring Sing. As sad as it is for us to have you graduate and move on, we know that your child is eager and ready for the next step. More accomplishments will come as they grow into themselves and each one will hold you spellbound as you watch with pride. We too are proud of the part we have played in their young lives and once again, thank you for intrusting your precious children to us.
CHILDREN'S CELEBRATION SUNDAY:
Please join us this Sunday, April 26th at 9:30am as LAUMC celebrates children! The children's center students are all asked to come to the sanctuary, wearing their red t-shirts for the 9:30 service. I will be sharing my own story as part of the service and then the children will be invited to come and sing, "He's Got the Whole World In His Hands." The teachers will all be recognized as well which is a wonderful way to kick off teacher appreciation week. A reception will be held afterward in the Children's Center patio. If you have any questions about this event, please give us a call.
STARFIRE AUCTION: is this Saturday night at 7:00pm to benefit our Senior High Yth grp traveling to England this summer. They are offering FREE CHILDCARE! Get a fun night out and support a great cause. Tickets are on sale in the CC office for $25.00. See you there!
